Sudan to lay oil pipeline in Kenya

Officials from Kenya and south Sudan have signed an agreement that will allow for the building of an oil pipeline connecting the two countries. The deal comes just days after south Sudan announced it would temporarily shut down its pipeline to the north over a dispute with Sudan. The memorandum of understanding was signed in juba and witnessed by prime minister Raila Odinga, south Sudan's president Salva Kiir and other officials. It will see the development of a pipeline and fibre optic connections between the oil fields in south Sudan and the Kenyan port town of Lamu.
