A video by JPL regarding the EDL (Entry, Descent and Landing) of the Spirit and Opportunity Rovers. Navigators slow the spacecraft down from 12,000 mph to nearly zero in just six minutes as they maneuver the spacecraft to their precise atmospheric entry points in order to reach specific landing targets on the surface of Mars.

  • Boring!!! If you are a science teacher don't make your students watch this. They think it's more fun to do an experiment

  • Fact: Anybody working on the project is a valid interview.

Further fact: Not ALL of them are.

  • I hate the PC way they always put the obligatory female in any doco on astronomy. Fact: The VAST majority of astronomers are MEN.
