My Song is Love Unknown was a poem written by Samuel Crossman, a non-conformist English clergyman in 1664, set to music by John Ireland in 1928 (he apparently wrote it on the back of an envelope for a friend one day). It was popularized in a modern form by Irish contemporary Christian singer Robin Mark, with the tune being used in a number of knock-off tunes. This song borrows some words and some of the melody.
