And I don't think it's trying to be 100% historical accurate anyway. The movie might not be inaccurate, could just be the narrator.

And it's movie anyway. Like Pocahontas, Mulan, Anastasia is ever accurate.

I heard it's not even true to the manga.

nepal is / was a sovereign country from the beging, it was not & it is not a part of any country.if u think buddha was born in previous india & now in nepal than

u need 2 know india never exist before British rules india they Reunit them and gave a name as India, it was know as east india ,do u remember west indies...the name.in india there were 100's of free nation they battle each other, i dont know what will people say ,but the land & place where buddha was born belongs 2 nepal.. thats it.

Japanese people are known to be literate in the world ,according to a literacy ..ratio. they come to visit Nepal to see buddha's birth place, but i think some body illiterate write this story and script. the film makers made a mistake in the very begining of the movie where buddha borns, so i think the rest is also like that, a modified or false story. if japan was ruled by united state or china and you were born in there so what do you say you are born in china or in japan/nihon??

@Invincnerd What Nepal was a part of India??.. hey hey,. we never were part of India and will never be... Go and check history of your country... Yeah we are friend, neighbor.. and we have some cultures in common but why are you not accepting the fact that he was born in the land.. that exist inside Nepal... so doesn't it mean that he was born here.. and to let you know.. India the name itself was given by British.. Nepal its the name name our ancestor kept!! and it existed even in Buddha's era!
