Part 1 of 5 - Is Alcohol Worse than Ecstasy - BBC Horizon

Recent research has analysed the link between the harmful effects of drugs relative to their current classification by law with some startling conclusions. Perhaps most startling of all is that alcohol, solvents and tobacco (all unclassified drugs) are rated more dangerous than ecstasy, 4-MTA and LSD (all class A drugs). If the current ABC system is retained, alcohol would be rated a class A drug and tobacco class B.

The scientists involved, including members of the government's top advisory committee on drug classification, have produced a rigorous assessment of the social and individual harm caused by 20 of the UK's most dangerous drugs and believe this should form the basis of future ranking. They think the current ABC system is arbitrary and not based on any scientific evidence.

The drug policies have remained unchanged over the last 40 years so should they be reformed in the light of new research?

MDMA is not methamphetamine or anything like it; although it may posses some structural similarities, MDMA's biological resultant is uniquely different than its amphetamine cousin's. Think about it. H2O and H2O2 seem very similar, but one is caustic while the other is necessary to most life. And due to your ignorance of pharmacodynamics, I think it is safe to disregard your bold assertion backed up by absolutely nothing.

This is a study done by scientists who have legit medical credentials. Ecstasy does not equal MDMA. Ecstasy is mixed MDMA with random shit. If you get some cut shit and get brain damage, don't blame the drug, blame the dealer for cutting it. Before you start telling everyone how MDMA kills brain cells, read studies about it. Go on PubMed or MAPS and provide scientific proof: Residual neurocognitive features of long-term ecstasy users with minimal exposure to other drugs. Read it and then talk.

@adamdude58 I did ecstasy for 3 years, every weekend... Im completely healthy. I stopped doing that and smoking and drinking... Ill tell u smoking and drinking is WAY harsher on ur body.....
