  • @OmkaraD - Script Kiddies? Are you serious? With the exception of Macrium (non-free/GPL), the rest of the list are more or less things I use on a daily basis. I feel sorry for you if you cannot embrace the packages that are offered in the Opensource community. Ive been in the industry over 16 years, and it took me a long time to take on Opensource, but since then I have less problems in general. Servers are stable, workstations are simple and easily restored/monitored.

  • I liked the video, I was not aware of Macrium, I'll try it since the other cloning solutions I have seem to have some issues. I agree Ubuntu is not a tool and should be on the #1. By the way those were 7 seven tools not 10...

  • no offence but almost all tools u "showed" here is just a toys for script kiddies :) who would use HFS when u can use FTP server, UBSD4WIN... iTalk? what about VNC?and since when teachers are IT specialists? :) couldn't view all vieo, sorry :)

  • Number one without doubt is Ubuntu, and is much more than a tool, but is a replacement for windows 7 when you buy a new computer. Then you will see the additional sofware readily available. Top software freely available is Gimp, a replacement for the expensive Photoshop, then you have Bluefish, Kompozer, Open Office, Pencil and goodness knows what, Software way above to which you have recommended. And video editing?? WOW!! And all open source, free of charge.
