  • Jedi, of course they do. That's why the exercise is done slowly. It is always easy to look at videos and say something really smart. There are different goals and different paths to reaching them, pedagogy is a huge topic. After all, what you see in the video are just exercises and demonstrations. :)

  • Very impressive Ilkka. Have no knowledge of the Fiore tradition, but you made me understand a lot of the similarities and differences in this clip. Really, really like the flourysh and the dagger/longsword plays with two attackers. I'll make sure I'll attend your class at this years Swordfish. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Leondrian Hi Robert, thanks for the comment! I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Though in all honesty I must say that while I am inspired by Fiore, in this video the dagger material draws from other sources as well, and follows my intuition rather than a specific system. The longsword material shown is more faithful to Fiore though.

  • Hi, Good job.

I'm Italian and i'm studying "Flos Duellatorum", i've noticed many similarities in the type of training and teachings methond, i like this.

sorry for my bad english :(.

  • Thanks for clarifying that Illka. I think it's great if you use your intuition in many cases of HEMA, as much of the basic skills is not known to us. Great clip and thanks for the reply.
