Uni work has delayed progress on the MM2 Multiplayer project a lot this month, but here's a little 3D test I put together in the short time I had, and some concept screenshots.

In this video fake 3D techniques are used, including AndersRiggelsen's paralaxer object, MMF's layers, and pre-rendered 3D. The idea was to possibly make a 1player or Co Op part of the game much like Megaman 2.5D (level graphics enhanced to 3D). If that will be done I will probably use OpenGL, unlike what is done here. I need to experiment more.

  • You know what be awesome, to customize your chatacters too, if that is possible. You know, to make our own INSERTNAMEman

  • Moonwalk! xD

  • Music- Sony Multikeygen by uh.. brainrain and someone else....

  • As I posted in my video on the parallaxer object, you just use the player x position as the offset. You do that by retrieving data from the player object in the expression editor and choosing x-position. You can also just write X("myObjectName")

  • Hey I'm just starting with mmf2. I've been testing out a lot of different objects and the parallaxer is the most impressive so far. How did you get the parallaxer to pan with the player instead of panning on a set speed in a set direction?

Current formula is Set Offset = ("Parallaxer")+1. plus being the direction, 1 being the speed. (from the example demo)

Also, is there a list of expressions for mmf2 to access the preset global variables like "Player X" somewhere?

  • No worries. And yeah I was gonna do that zooming out like in MM2.5D for co-op.

I've been messing with OpenGL too and it's a lot easier than I thought. :)
