  • Double strokes are a cool way to invent licks! But kids! Remember NOT to use the ruff technique to "force" that second stroke (as I see many cats doing) but use your fingers to pull that second note. The two strokes must sound equal or it will not sound good. And on the real toms, where you can't really get a good rebound you must learn a different technique and forget about the ruff. use your wrists and fingers. It's far from easy, you'll have to spend a lot of time with it. Cheers billpeart!
