In 2008, Goodna State School embarked on a journey to change its culture and become a school of choice, with a focus on excellence and academic performance. Led by principal Margaret Gurney and a team of strategic staff, the school was inspired to improve students' performances by liberating students through learning and building community capacity, including a focus on the roles of staff and parents to improve educational outcomes. Working at a grassroots level to achieve belief and excellence, the school has built on its strengths and the philosophy that each and every member of the school community believes that each and every child can learn and achieve. Goodna
State School is reaping the rewards of this successful program through a significant increase in enrolments, academic results, and staff and parent satisfaction.
