In 2008, Goodna State School embarked on a journey to change its culture and become a school of choice, with a focus on excellence and academic performance. Led by principal Margaret Gurney and a team of strategic staff, the school was inspired to improve students' performances by liberating students through learning and building community capacity, including a focus on the roles of staff and parents to improve educational outcomes.
