woah woah woah, the gospel of thomas? did i hear correctly? tell me "priest" what in the word does the gospel of thomas have to do with the testament sof jesus christ? let alone the word of god? i recall reading in the book of thoms basically that hermaphrodites were perfect? and crazy eastern philosphical ideas like that. it's not god, it's not jesus, the gnostic gospels are frauds. obvioulsly.

Oooops - responsibility and accountabiliy...I can see how I have been dodging those in my life, but I did not relate it before to how it may be undermining my spiritual progress. I guess I have thought that life should be easy, and if it was difficult, that meant it needed to be "fixed" to be easier.

That is a common mistake of thinking that if things are hard, then someone is being mean or out to get us. Actually, hard things stretch us and force us to expand our consciousness, which is good. So maybe our painful childhood was not so negative after all. Maybe it was actually. But it was karma that we chose, when we chose our parents.
