@thetearjerker19 your not the only one struggling to have a relationship w/ their father. i have had so much trouble w/ it that i gave up on gaining my fathers approval years ago.

@308Radar if only all fathers were like that. mine left when my twin brother and i were 7 months old. now, fifteen years later he wants me at his second wedding. im one of the very few daughters that has never dreamed of having my father walk me down the isle. and thats because of his actions towards me my brother and my mom when i was younger.

I guess everyone has their own opinions about what this song means but to me its not talking about his actual father, I think its him talking about God and needing His help with raising his son. But I might be wrong
