Originally recorded November 24, 1978 at the studios of WKQX in Chicago for their "Live Studio Jam" program, during Al Stewart's "Time Passages" tour. Arista pressed 2500 copies of the original LP "for Promotional Use Only."

Eventually some of the songs from this LP found their way onto CD re-releases of Al's albums as "bonus tracks," and finally the (almost) complete "Blue Album" was released on CD in 2002 by BMG as "Time Passages Live." Unfortunately, BMG cut out some of Al's chatter between songs, including his intro of the band, so I edited in that part from an MP3 made from the original LP.

  • When I am a Millionaire I shall be opening a jazz bar in London - this exact track shall play every night, at six. If you're not off work, changed and down the bar by that time you're drink shall be given away! =p

  • Nice cover! The sax on the original Mancini Pink Panther theme was played by the great L.A. musician Plas Johnson.
