This is from a trumpet player to another trumpet player. First of all get rid of the puffey cheeks. Second of all just calm down. Trumpet solo's can be pretty tough, but to make them easier is by relaxing your shoulders and hands. Buzz your lips to get your lips "warmed" up. That way you can reach higher notes. But good try to play the solo. :)

Good trumpet players don't insult the bad ones, we were all there

was this your first solo ever, you looked really nervous and tense. relax. first of all, regardless of the instrument, relaxing will always produce an awesome sound. as for nervousness, can't really do much about it especially when it's your first solo. i mean on my first solo ever i felt like i could mess up like that any moment.

Yo, I have a million stories like this. when I was in Marching our band made it to state comp. with the song I had a solo in. I mastered the trumpet solo in the previous Lower State Comp, but messed up when it really counted. Dude ur good tho. just know, the more you practice, the better you get, n half the ppl on YT don't do anything but watch. Now I play 8 instruments pro level and its all because I don't quit.

All musicians go through this. What separates the good ones from the bad ones is if you can use this experience to motivate you to keep practicing and get better, and not as one that makes you give up. Keep at it brother!

Anyone who plays has a few solos they wish they could get a do-over on.

I think he needed to loosen up a bit, lose all the tensity in your upper body. It was a nice solo in my opinion but it could've been better :) And it might help your embouchure (if thats how you spell it) if you had your trumpet more up a bit, and if you tried to not puff your cheeks out :) I'm a trumpeter and I've been playing for 5 and a half years, bring emotion into your solos brah! Make them musical :D

Quality. Love the way the other trumpets backed him up.
You should join an orchestra now and really improve their sound.
Keep going my man, you have talent
