  • Not many good washtub players out there.  You, my friend, do a fine job. I don't fret the string when I play...just stretch it. That's the way I learned 35 years ago and I'm told I'm very good at it. Of course, as you already know, it's all in the ear because there is no actual tuning or frets to rely on. Rock on :-)

  • @washtubjohn Thanks - I really appreciate it. You are right, there are not many of us out there. I was playing for about 15 years before I ever saw another wash tub player in the flesh. There seems to be more lately.

    As you can see I both fret and stretch it. I get more range that way, but there really is no right way to do it.
