That is the wisest choice when going through such terrain. It allows for more time to scan ahead and assess your situation. Usually 2nd gear is most commonly used for experienced Landrover enthuziasts, but it all depends how rough the terrain is.

Do u only use 1 low range for rock crawling, decending steep slopes and axle twisters.
