thats an interesting smal mine. the opals look really colorful and sweet.

do the walls of the mine need any kind of support? or are they strong enough just digging through.
-
Do opals follow a random pattern, or are there veins, so to speak, that can be followed?

Their are many opal mines in Honduras- Central America, There is KALACASKA-, we also found at KALACASKA OPALIZED MASTADON TUSK'S ERINDEKIE is another spot near the boader of El Salvador. Then there is MEXICAN Fire Opal-Jelly Opal. The only way to Kalacaska is by horseback, you get their, you see opal everywhere. I was there in 1973,those who went their didnt care about the opal, they were making more money off the Dinosaur Fossils. I felt bad for the horses on the way back80pounds of fire opal.
