Tree pose creates a sense of calm and enhances balance. It strengthens the spine, thighs, calves, and ankles, and stretches the inner thighs and groin. Can be therapeutic for sciatica and flat feet.
Check with your doctor before practicing this pose if you have low pressure. It's not recommended if you are experiencing headaches or insomnia. If you have high blood pressure, do not raise your arms above your head in this pose (keep them on your hips instead).
