What i loved about acting back in those days was. Actors were picked because they can play their Role. they get into character! Now adays actors play themselves. And every actor you see will play the same character is in every movie they're in.

I enjoyed this series when I watched it during the late 1960s as a kid because they portraited the Germans and Nazis as fools rather than being feared. Kids shouldn't learn to hate anything. They also took guts to produce this series because actors who played Shultz and Klink were both Jewish and the "French guy" was a concentration camp survivor. I also liked the actress who played a secretary on the first season, she reminded me of a nice teacher I had in 5th grade. Thanks for the post.
