That cut of Image in the tease was off the chain good!
-
@sportsguruisme It's called Image News. It was used by a variety of stations (including WUAB/WOIO in Cleveland before going with Enforcer). It's been deemed as very popular because of how upbeat and "newslike" it is.

Tom McGee is a bad motherfucker.

Their theme sounds like the theme from WTAE Ch. 4 Action News from 1999-2003!
Their other song sounds like the NBC/ABC College FB theme song from our area when it was first heard during, I think, the 2001 Rose Bowl Between Washington St. and Purdue (who had future NFL star and 2010 Super bowl champion Drew Brees)

I think Tom McGee has been on every station in the Huntington/Charleston market except WSAZ. Smart not to hire him WSAZ!!!

@Buckpenn - WOWK (then WHTN) was an ABC station from 1955 to 1958 when it switched with WCHS to be the CBS affiliate. In 1962, WOWK became an ABC station again. Then in 1984 WOWK became a CBS affiliate and WCHS be an ABC affiliate.

@Buckpenn KYW-TV in Philadelphia doesn't use Image News by Gari Communications.

WOWK was so much better back then with Tom McGee. They suck now.

I have the WHCP WB 30 news and anchor talent. I also have WSAZ from same time period as the WOWK clip.

What a ripoff of Hearst-Argyle's graphics package from that era...
It's so weird to see an anchor and co-anchor in different cities. They should have just built the studio half way between Charleston and Huntington...

I know. WOWK is now owned by WV Media. WOWK doesn't do the two anchor thing anymore. WSAZ TV 3 in the market does. WCHS/WVAH don't... I think it was kinda neat having an anchor in each city. Charleston/Huntington covers a wide area for TV. I have WSAZ opening I will be putting up soon.
