@jfkjrlover I accept that the Grand Champion American Shorthairs are quite distinctive. But generally speaking, the classification is far too broad. Take the main cat in this 101 video, for example: It looks nothing like the GCs and everything like a non-pedigree shorthair domestic. So how does the ordinary lay person avoid being conned?

@BigEricHunt Look it up, dummy. Just type in American Shorthair GC (stands for grand champion) in Google images and you'll see great examples of the ideal American Shorthair "type." Also, your fucking country's cat registry doesn't even recognize the Chartreux, a French breed, because it resembles the blue British Shorthair too closely - so the British blue is not even unique enough to distinguish it from another breed! You just have no damn clue about cat breeds so put a lid on it.

@jfkjrlover What is the "breed standard"? How does the average cat owner distinguish between an American Shorthair and a Domestic Shorthair? Is it because one comes with papers and the other one comes from a shelter? LOL.
I have a sea front property for sale in London, if your interested?

@BigEricHunt I'm not a breeder nor owner but I know cat breeds and thought you needed some enlightenment. You evidently don't even know much about British Shorthairs 'cause you think they are mostly blue. The fact remains that they come in all colors and combinations! American Shorthairs have a breed standard they are bred to and pedigrees. Just 'cause you British cunts don't recognize them as a breed doesn't mean they aren't.
-
@jfkjrlover Are you an American Shorthair "breeder"...? Or have you just paid hundreds of dollars for an American pure bred mongrel? (Ha-ha-ha!).
The British Shorthair is mostly blue with orange eyes. The American Shorthair is just about every non-pedigree cat under the sun: It's a mongrel from Europe that only got pedigree status when somebody realised there was money to be made from it. "Bred to be stronger". LMFAO. It got bigger & stronger through improved diet, just like the rats in NYC.
-
@BigEricHunt That's bullshit! You obviously don't know or care to know a damn thing about the breed. I bet you just dismiss it as it is something American. There are several breeds that come in every possible color and combination such as the Oriental Shorthair and even your precious stupid British Shorthair! Are those not purebred!? Imbecile. American Shorthairs come with pedigrees that go back several generations so I'd shut my ignorant Limey trap if I were you!
