    All so wrapped up in owning "your" genre-but, if you really understood the musicology/theory/production (that's my career) underneath it all, there is not much to what you call dubstep. What most everyone calls dubstep is not dubstep - with a nod to the guy who mentioned Burial. Most labelled dubstep breaks down to a small handful of patterns in the percussion, specific ways to produce, say, the bass lines - and often the relationship of the meters of the various parts. But, enjoy it anyway.
