You never mentioned the thousands of rockets being fired into Israel months before, so Hamas actually broke the cease fire? Why didn't the palestinians care about having a country of their own for thousands of years? Only when the jews fought for their holy and got it is when the palestinians started complaining. The United Nations approved the British mandate which gave equal land to both,The Jews approved it and the Arab league didn't. So basically the Palestinians never wanted peace.
