The recommended minimum for Vista is 2GB, because It's so resource hungry (I recommend 3GB from personal experience), but people have gotten Vista to run under 48MB.

i have pc with 256 mb of ram and processor dual core @ 2.80 GHz 2.81 GHz and in my computer works Windows XP pro SP3 , Windows Vista Ultimate , Business and Ultimate - But it works and Windows 7 - Ultimate , Home Premenium and Starter :))

Hey, it's not necessary to copy the DVD files to a flash drive, goto vLite and when it copy the files
just go to the folder where vLite copied files, and then copy the patched "winsetup.dll" to that folder.
so then vLite will copy Windows files and the patched winsetup. (it will make it bootable)

Actually, in my case, I had to use a flash drive. The laptop I used didn't have a DVD drive...
