Rachel, I'm 18 years old and I (as well as many other girls on here I'm sure) have been hurt a few times in the past (emotionally speaking) and as a result of that, I have big trust issues ... even with people that I know I should be able to trust. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this but I have been best friends with someone for about 3 years now and last year she got a boy friend who is horrible and a few months ago he took it too far by calling me fat, lesbian (when I'm not), ugly and lots of other names... now we can't be in the same room as each other and recently I have been noticing that my friend is blocking me out and ignoring me and would rather spend time with him then me :( Can you help?

wow all these signs are to a tee of what my ex-boyfriend was..i did see alot of abuse at home when i was a child and i ended up with an abusive ex...luckily now i have a good man who loves and respects me for me :)

You don't believe that if a person is willing to face these issues, that the relationship can get better? I'm just saying, because everyone has at least one of these issues on occasion and to brand someone as toxic for being human in this shameful way.. I don't know, i'd like to have a bit more faith in a person than just stay away from the friendship / relationship straight up coldly

My best friend is in a really bad relationship & the guy she is with is a very bad influence on her, she has no trust in him as he has mistreated her & hurt her before, but she continues to be with him, its really hard seeing her waste her life with an idiot, idk what to do anymore i've tried talking to her but she just doesnt listen, she needs to get it in her head that she is in a very unhealthy relationship & leave while she still can..
