@bruce81089 Thanks for your comment. That was the tipping point for me to be able to use my setup with iMovie '09. Much appreciated

does this work with windows movie maker live?

I have a Everio GZ-HD6, MacPro 2x 2.26Ghz Quad Core - 12GB Ram, Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and iMovie 09. When I plug in my camera and select "Playback on PC" the camera mounts to the desktop and is browsable in the Finder, however when launching iMovie no pop-up appears. If I select the Import from Camera option, the only import source available is my monitor's iSight camera. I've also tried File > Import > Movies and File > Import > Camera Archive select the mounted Everio_HHD volume with no luck.

OK, I wrote one part wrong- it's Import, then Import from Camera!!! It'll bring up your built in camera then look for your camcorder.

The pop up window, doesn't pop up after I open Imovie 09 either, The only window that pops is the Welcome to Imovie window after the "iPhoto Video Thumbnails generation for vids in my iPhoto Library" which there's none anyway, I dnt use iPhoto...
Please Help...

@claudioconga That seems to be a problem with your copy of iMovie.
