@TheThingKing I think you got the old and new one confused. The old one was garbage. It had singing every five minutes about EVERYTHING, bad acting, depressing in a way and boring as hell. This one had more humor and it was believable. The candy looked appetizing while the chocolate river on the first movie looked like the sewer line.

That is my favorite line. Thanks for putting in here. I love Wilder and thought he was the better Wonka,but Depp ruled as Wonka and the new film was much better than the old.

This movie is so bad. Corny garbage and Depp's Wonka reminded me of Micheal JAckson. Watch the orignal with the great Gene Wilder. He is Willy WOnka.

@TheThingKing Fair enough, that's your opinion. I grew up with the Gene Wilder version and loved it, but then when Johnny Depp and Tim Burton collaborated on this one I was so excited. The point of these fantasy films is to offer escapism to the audience, to tap into their imagination and both do that splendidly. If you prefer the original, fine by me. But don't go and knock something other people enjoy.
