The pressure was on...twelve-year old Kristen King, participant in one of Goddard Riverside's after school programs, had a chance to win $5000 for the organization. On the Today Show, Mike Lupica was promoting his new book, Million-Dollar Throw, published by Penguin Publishers. The premise of the book is that a young boy gets a chance to throw a football through a target at a New England Patriot's game and if he succeeds, he wins a million dollars. In the story, his father lost his job, the girlfriend is going blind, and pressure is on the young boy. Reflecting the theme of the book, Kristen had a chance to throw a football through a target on national TV and win $5000 worth of books from the Penguin Young Readers group for Goddard Riverside. Did she succeed?
