Sorry but the song was out before I was 20 years old, meaning before or right around 1967. A lot of writers need to keep their hands in mittens.

Yes it is for her but it is a nice song that mentions Philadelphia. I'm from Pennsylvania and its nice to have a better song then "Allentown"

And, I forgot to say, they actually played tennis together many times. Billie Jean King and Elton John, were the best of friends.

The song is not about Philadelphia at all. The song is about Billie Jean Kings tennis team, which was called the Philadelphia Freedom. Elton John and Billie Jean King were best of friends, and before he made the song, he told Billie Jean that he would make a song about here, and so he did.
