RTL nieuwspresentatrice Femke Wolthuis heeft diverse theateropleidingen gevolgd en heeft een uitgebreide theater en muziek achtergrond.
Met Romanesca brengt ze een unieke combinatie van Europese muzikale stijlen. Vurige zigeunermuziek uit de Balkan, romantische Franse chansons, spannende tango's, en jazzy swing. Akoustische live-muziek, in arrangementen van Eric Bergsma en onder deskundige leiding van Willem Wolthuis. Naast de muziek bruist het orkest van humor en theatraliteit.
Romanesca werd 1962 opgericht door violist (en vader van Femke) Willem Wolthuis en drie conservatroriumvrienden. Met concerten over de hele wereld traden ze exclusief op voor festiviteiten en formaliteiten, voor MKB en multinationals, en last but not least: de Koninklijke familie. Met de nieuwe, jonge garde (Don Hofstee, gitaar, Rene Postma, contrabas, Femke Wolthuis zang en Eric Bergsma piano, gaan avontuur en traditie hand in hand.
