I find it hilarious that people claim a character is op when the player using them almost never uses any tactics that may give them the upper-hand.
In other words: Why claim Lucario is superior to Marth when 90% of Koda's game is grabbing?

It's the player, never the character. The character is flawless, because every one has the capacity to defend in the same manner as another without handicap, which as you helped note is different for everyone's offense.
The player that focuses more on self-defense (in this, Lucario player) than on offense (in this, Marth player) is usually what determines the match

Overpowered character (Koda) vs Underpowered character (No Limitz)

@skanny321 Yea though some characters require way more skill then others.

For those who don't know:
Marth is basically about his Dancing Blade and using the tip of his sword. Lucario is mainly about grabs and Aura Sphere. This seems like a basic game, the main reason why Marth lost is because he didn't use Dancing blade nor the tip enough.
theres no such thing as bad characters, only bad players

People who defend spam tactics are 9 times out of 10, spammers themselfs. Very few strive to fight with real skill when they know of underhanded tactics as such.
But alas, as stated, it's a valid tactic that was alotted into the game and nothing can really be done about it. There are ways to beat people who play like that, and that's all you can hope to do.
