Yet music comes from its environment. Maybe if more people had a less condemning attitude of others, your country would be, at least, somewhat 'better'. Rap musc is a product of its environment so if you don't like it, change your view and the world will change in turn. Change starts with YOU.

here was a a man so grounded, yet so firmly in touch with the collective conscience, how else would his mastery of lyric, melody and the fountain of human emotion reach so many.. I wonder how the youth of "these days" finds any universal concepts, the music of today doesn't speak to me. We seem to be disintegrating as a society, and maybe that is the way it is, humanity the one that got away? so much of the music of my time carried me through, he is a giant as a lot of us are on his shoulders.

Dan is the man. It was his song....about Maine "The Reach" that helped to inspire my grandparents to return here, back to their roots so many years later after raising 5 children in Nissaquogue Village on Long Island, N.Y.

So many of his songs remind me of cherished memories. Dan was and will always be the Leader of the Band to me. God bless him and his timeless, beautiful music! Let him live on in us all!
