These are early test runs of the 2010 Body Forward Robot Game, by FLL team Westside. At the beginning of the season, the team decided to try and earn all 400 points. They chose a method of one Core Module (NXT brick, motors, sensors) to drive various dedicated chassis. The kids were inspired by the "robot within a robot" concept seen last year at tournaments and here on YouTube; their version can be seen in Trip 5.

The smaller robot came off the larger chassis in Trip 5, using a method the kids called "Robot Within a Robot". It's not magic!

The team studied this idea after seeing it at the Open International Championship (and here on YouTube). The kids were eager to try it for Body Forward when they decided the tissue samples needed a different kind of robot than the east missions.

The concept is demonstrated in the "Video Response" listed above.
