Arts Alive 2002 in Johannesburg at a totally empty reverberant Turine Hall, freezing cold and an acoustic in hell. Lenny van den berg was given a substantial budget to put together a MELT 2000 showcase at its best. Ricky flew in from Madagaskar, Byron Wallen came from London for a concert with PedXulu. Everything was cool except the organisers decided to put on a FREE concert around the corner with all the local greats from kwaito to Jazz !
This tape i found during my move to Switzerland shows the second night. Unfortunately that night a lot of us largely missed because we had some drunken fan jumped the robot (traffic light) crashing into the VW bus. Personally i regret not having seen the concert of my 4 guitar heroes - Madala, Baba, Shiyani & Spector who put a new label to maskanda music. We just caught a few minutes of SHANA with Mario Cee from London - a collaboration work that lead to a much closer relationship between Nathi (now famous BlackCoffe ). and Kronologik who invested a lot of time and money to make sure BlackCoffee became as strong as an espresso over in the UK and Europe.
