I live in Korea.
Most Koreans have not got a problem with Americans.
PS Us English were there too during the war. We were positioned just north of Seoul.

Hope you're having fun in Korea John.
I'd like to just mention that during my visit to Korea while in the Navy I didn't get quite the same feeling you did. Lots of angry stares.
Maybe they don't like the military as much as tourists.

I imagine your friends are young. There is a generation gap. As always, universities are led by leftists and this distorts the culture.
But, if we see lots of anti-American activity in Korea or you are correct and we do a survey of Koreans and the view is unfavorable, (as we have in Pakistan) we can cut off immigration. But I am sure your poll of your friends is not representative.
PS We supplied nearly all troops in the Korean war. MacArthur was the lead general.
