I had the idea for a stop motion video for over a year now, but at the time, I wan't sure how I would use stop motion to create a video that would be fun to watch. So I figured I had to come up with a story. Later I got the idea of letting a man travel, which gave me alot of freedom to make the video. However, why would a man travel miles and miles for? I didn't wanted him to travel 'just because', so I delayed the project until I had a reason for him to travel.
The reason appeared only a few months ago, when I watched a movie , featuring a song. I immediently knew I wanted to use that song, the reason I was looking for was in the lyrics.
A man traveling miles and miles to be with his love. That's a romantic concept, not? However, I didn't wanted it to become a sugarsweet romantic story between Prince Charming and his Lovely Lady. I didn't wanted the characters to be perfect, like you'd expect them to be in a setting like this. So instead of a blacksmith, I made Aidan a thief. And it's not too ladylike for Yumiya to steal Aidans last money, especially after he gave her nearly all his money. However, they do love each other, and I hope it shows in the video. Despite of their imperfection, their love is real. I guess that's what I wanted to show in this video.
It took alot of work to make, I honestly admit I underestimated it, and I delayed the video due Talk Like A Pirate Day so I could farm tons of Grog. Creating the video was alot of fun though. All screenshots are taken by hand, I didn't used any 3rd party programs. Only the scene during the credits is 'normally' recorded. The 360 jump at 1:15 is my least favorite scene of the video. It was pretty difficult and it didn't really came out the way I wanted. I love the scene where Aidan is waving, though, it's my favorite scene.
I know the video isn't smooth. I did that on purpose, so people could clearly see that it's not a regular video.
Aidan is played by two different characters. One of them is the PvP character Aidan The Archer on the same account as my main character Yumiya, but for the scenes of them together, I had a 2nd account with an RPG character, Aydin The Ranger. The only difference between Aidan and Aydin is their height; Aydin is a bit taller.
I like the outcome of the movie. It's not exactly how I wanted it, but then again, none of my videos is. I had great help from my friend Tom, who set his own video projects aside to help me with mine. Not only he helped me in every scene featuring more than one character, but his view on the video and his ideas were very valuable and I'm really glad he wanted to help me out. :)

Stop motion is just position character, print screen, position character, print screen. And all those screenies pasted after each other is tihs video.
