This might have already been posted... but just in case...
the song was wriiten by Sidney Bechet on his arrival in France. Bechet had given up
on America and its treatment of black musicians and went to France where he, his music and talent was more appreciated. It would be many years before he and his
ilk were appreciated here. Our loss to be sure. Acker's rendition is certainly the best. Thanks.

Brings back lots of memories. Used to play this exact version on my clarinet as a teenager.

Wonderful tune. It still takes me back to my holiday at Butlins holiday camp as a child, they would play this music in the morning to wake you up. Fantastic times...

Great instumental song that I remember very well when I was 13 years-old
in 1961!!! "I Want Yo' Number."
This was my Dad's favorite song. I had it played at his funeral for him. Everytime I hear this song it brings back memories of my Dad. Thank you so much for having it hear so I can listen to it anytime I need to think of him.

Ah! This is the version I grew up on and that I prefer. He recorded others that often appear on instrumental compilations but this is the real deal. Thank you!
