However, you need to pay attention and use the attachment thingy. I've sliced a couple of fingers in more than one occasion x(

i got one of these on order, here in the uk as im running out of knuckles to grate!! will be really pleased to get this ..:D

I've had that same slicer for years. The notch on the end has another notch on the other side. It's so you can set the notches on the lip of a bowl and slice directly into it. It is really handy to have but very dangerous if you don't use the food gripper (as you pointed out)
