In this home security installation (GE Simon XT - Chapter 3 - Wiring the control panel) video, SafeMart shows customers how to wire a control panel for a GE Simon XT home security system.
SafeMart provides home security systems and alarm monitoring that is simple, secure and professional. the later portion of the video states "at the phone box" That's the box outside the house? Does that mean I have to run a very long 18AWG wire all the way to the phone box? OR, does it mean I can bring a short piece of the 18AWG wire and do the connection at the hone box?
Is there a way to do the wiring at the wall jack instead of at the phone box? Thanks.

@visualcontrast
Thanks visualcontrast, that is correct. We do try to keep even our "older-style" media out as a good resource to everyone because there are a good handful that still can use it and it makes it easier for sure.
@ari3l0n3 - I will email you a link to the video. The posted link below should work but I will email it to you to be sure you receive it!
Help.SafeMart.com is where we keep all our resources, videos, manuals, posts, etc. so that anything you need to do is easier.

@ari3l0n3
It's called: "GE Simon 3 Chapter 4: Wire an RJ31X Jack - Home Security by SafeMart" and should still work for the Simon XT. I also found some additional help and lessons which made it easy at ---> help.safemart.com which is another great resource!

@ari3l0n3
Hey, I saw your post on here and I had already found the video on SafeMart's channel on how to wire the phone jack so I will send it to you. YouTube won't let me post a comment with a link to another video for some reason.
I believe the installation video's ID is rZzfZfgKTD so if you want to type in youtube's address plus ------> /watch?v=rZzfZfgKTD4 that might do it.
Let me know if that doesn't work and I will email it to you.
