  • Leon! hahah I just found this vid on YT. What ab is that? I will be doing a new painting soon of someone's poodles. Hope I can make it look nice! This is professor greibowitz (from WC) but don't tell everyone my real name! hahahahha I'm trying to keep semi-anonymous.

  • Hey you Greibo! The strange AB I use in the vid is a Paasche Turbo. Very tricky gun to work with. I found out I'm avoiding the gun and always grab my Iwata HP-A and H&S Evo. I'm working on a new color painting and have an article in a German airbrush magazine (published in June 2009). Look forward to see that poodles painting. I'm trying to keep myself non-anonymous as possible. I will finally be a number like everybody else and become invisible, hahaha. See ya. Leon.

  • Hey could you help me with something? I was just wondering if that airbrush is better than the Badger NO 150 series like if it does the line thinner and if because the badger 150 i use it keeps doing the lines a bit thicker than does you are doing and like could you tell me the brand you use like the model and the pressure you use? I use Auto-air Colors (Water-based) and the badger 150 with a 40 to 20 PSI pressure. Thanks!

  • It is not possible to say what kind of brand airbrush is the best or better. I found out it is the hand that controls the gun in combination with some tuning and knowledge of paint, that you can get in the large amount of airbrush forums around the world. I have seen great airbrush paintings made with cheap airbrushes. Always dilute our paint and spray the same area over several times to get the same (much better) result then trying to spray it all once. Good luck. Leon.

  • 70 drops water

    40 E'tac carbon black Private Stock 200

30 primary magenta Schmincke Aerocolor Pro

    10 primary cyan SAP

I use those colors to neutralize the brown tint of the E'tac black. You can also use other brands or also E'tac.

This a good basic mixture I think, sometimes I ad some more water. Underground is also important. This mixture wont work on surfaces that are smooth like glass. Just play with it. Make sure your nozzle is clean and your needle must be polished.

    regards,

    Leon.

  • I thought it was maybe a turbo. I don't find a need to do such detail with an ab. I have pencils or a small paintbrush for that. :) But, I hear about this SUPER Micron Eddy Wouters is pushing to make some $. hehehehe I won't buy one. It's making the ab do something it really never was designed to do. It shines at soft transitions and subtle overlays of color. I think I need to use a brush more. congrats on the magazine!

  • i cant quite understand how you can do those EXTREMELY thin lines !!!

what kind of paint do you use ?
