R. Edward Freeman of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia gives insights into "Stakeholder Theory". This video is part of the Masters Seminars in Business Ethics video series. The series features thought leaders in business ethics addressing topics in their particular fields of expertise, including their approach to teaching business ethics. The purpose of the series is to make the best thinking in business ethics globally available free-of-charge for educators, students, and managers interested in embedding ethics into business practice. Businesses exist to serve customers and make a profit for shareholders. All stakeholders are not equal. Yes, businesses need to care about employees, the community, the environment, etc., but treating them as equal to customers and owners makes no sense.
A fundamental management principle is to FOCUS. This guy wants businesses to turn into government agencies. He has obviously never worked in a REAL business with REAL people.

@ukpropaganda because you didn't watch the whole video or grasp his theory in its entirety. You took away only what you need inorder to enforce your antiestablishment points of view.
In argument, I interpret Freeman's theory to be very market-based.
