Eldoret North mp William Ruto returns home this morning from a high profile trip to The Hague where he met top officials of the international criminal court on matters relating to the 2007/08 post election violence. During his trip, which came as a surprise to both friend and foes, Ruto recorded a statement on what he knew about the violence, after he, and 4 other cabinet ministers received notices of adverse mention from Ocampo. But what was the significance; political and legal of Ruto's face to face encounter with Ocampo and his team of investigators? Francis Gachuri reports.
@Mavinga. Run them on youtube, not on the browser

@Savai, any guilty person, will stand trial.
Kenya has 30million people, we have so many Kibakis, so many Rutos, so many Patels, & so many sick people.
Within our population we have thousand dozens of parliamentarians, you can be too. So don't defend anyone of them.

@Savai. I don't care for anyone who seeks to affirm her/himself with a tribe & corruption. I am a Kenyan.
Learn to love your nation, not your tribe.
As you talk of tribe, we are trying to advance our ability beyond Africa, we just lost a bid to India, for trade policy issues.
Be a Kenyan, be truthful to yourself. Love your nation & be proud, then you'll discover yourself better. Learn to believe in your ability & not your friends.
Because, people who depend on others are cursed.

@mutka2003: If you mention Uhuru and Mungiki, and of course you do not care about them, then do not forget not to care about Lucy Kibaki and the state House Meeting that led to the massacres in Naivasha. I am afraid the Ocampo trial is going to buttress the Kenyan tribes more firmly and those living within Kenya will only feel safe in their tribe. Already the Ruto visit to The Hague has begun dividing the morals of Kenyans on animalistic tribal lines.

How lovely it will be when one evening, we'll come home, switch our TVs on, & there will be no political news at all that night.
It will be a cartoon for our kids, then a comedy, followed by a cooking program, then a wildcat diary to remind us how beautiful Kenya is.
Because, wherever I turn, Kenyan media has no business helping us remember our values & culture.
Politics dominate their list, they even waste our time on Sonko's church day & a Maina Njenga.

@Savai: Ruto & group, Uhuru & his mungiki friends, collective or individual prosecution, one thing I know for sure is that Kenyans we are tired of political, tribal, nepotism, corruption & inequality mess.
We want all dirty to get punished. Think of it, we are all human beings, we are trying our best to live in this Godamn f**kn country.
Where poor pple defend their corrupt & alligator like tribal kingpins with blood & soul.
I don't care abt them, pls

mutka2003: At The Hague there is nothing like collective guilt. That is a fundamental element of the previous rulings at the international trials on crimes against humanity. Every individual is prosecuted according to the evidence presented against him or her. Ocampo will have a very difficult time prosecuting Ruto because he has to prove Ruto had the capacity to start the killings when they started and end them when they ended. The orders obviously lie with a higher authority than Ruto. :
