What a shame that politicians do not understand the difference between restoration and upgrading. I agree that all we want is for the government to restore our lost dignity and those amounts that were deducted from us by a former labor government and grant us a fairer indexation in line with the community
thank you Air Marshall, the only senior officer in my memory whom has stood tall for retired service personnel. Politicians? I am moved to consider options more violent...
My view : There should not be 3 lines only one to be fair for all. Politicians are the only group of commonwealth employees that seem to make their own rules on super.
Military had to change from 20 year service to age base. Under new scheme younger members will be even worst off. To resolve pensions all commonwealth employees should be on the one scheme? Keep up the good work as your information is invaluable to all of us well done.
These politicians are low life bottom feeders. When ever they require a pay rise "their" hands go up before the motion is even tabled. Now, all we require is some equality & fairness. We're not asking for golden tickets, that "retired" pollies have access to so that "they & family members" can fly & tour the world at tax payers expense.
Dr Lee, it would be nice, but improbable, for you to stand corrected in Parliament of your own accord, acknowledging the correctness of AVM Criss.
But what if the politicians pay increase likely to be announced at the end of the pre Christmas session were to include retrospective adjustment of the pensions of retired politicians? You will stand hung on you own petard.
Peter
