Having a Wild Cantor in play and a Enduring Renewal can allow you to constantly sac the Wild Cantor for a red mana and use that red mana to recast the Wild Cantor. Why would you want to do this? Well for starters if you have a Dragon's claw in play you gain a life each time you do this, so you can gain as much life as you want. Secondly if you have a Grapeshot in your hand you will pretty much win the game unless your opponent has shroud or protection from red.

*NEW*
Deck list for this deck. I got rid of Dragon's claw and went for The Soul Warden and Essence Warden instead.

4 Enduring Renewal
4 Proclamation of Rebirth
4 Skirk Prospector
4 Wild Cantor
4 Blood Pet
4 Essence Warden
3 Soul Warden
4 Grapeshot
4 Idylic Tutor
2 Sterling Grove

23 Lands:
1 Godless shrine
1 Blood Crypt
2 stomping Ground
2 Sacred Foundry
2 Temple Garden
2 Forest
2 Swamp
6 Plains
5 Mountain

The sideboard is still a work in progress, so far this is what I have:

3 Rebuff the Wicked
3 Shattering Spree
3 Leyline of the Void (Tormod's Crypt might replace these)

I still haven't figured out the rest of the sideboard.

  • its funny because there is a guy named "cantor" who studied the number infinity. lol

  • funny

  • umm..

It's flawed for the opponent can just counterspell the Wild Cantor.. But other than that its an amazing combo.

  • Sideboard Gutteral Response or a Vexxing Shusher then.

  • Storm is a triggered ability, when the grapeshot goes on the stack the storm triggers placing copies of the spell on the stack upon resolution of the storm trigger. The only way to stop the is to counter the trigger ability with a card like stifle or trickbind. Countering the original spell does not stop the triggered ability from resolving.

  • Neat combo. I cast mind breaker trap... the door is right behind you.

  • :P

  • i have a deck that uses this, works well in 2hg. i tossed in a kami of false hope, as well as some ronom unicorns. they tend to help out quite a bit, and are cheap to buy.

  • @fr0stb1te i think wizards had that in mind XD

  • @Walrustimesfive Lol if wild cantor was countered enduring renewal wold return it to your hand. The only ways this combo can be attacked are by either countering enduring renewal (I would recommend either including or side boarding auramancer to return it to your hand so you don't depend on drawing another or drawing a tutor) or by removind the renewal with a card like oblivion ring. Of course this is not to say the combo is bad, combos are generally weak to a well made control deck.

  • Enduring Renewall + Alluren and a mogg fanatic in hand xD

  • love createrues that can sacrifice itself to add any effect to the battlefield .

    grave pact <3

  • I love the music, name please?

  • @gaersofwar Mana pools empty at the end of each phase. so really, before main phase is even over. but doesn't matter because there's a plethora of great ways to win with all that mana. I would actually lose the Dragon's Fang/Wurm's Tooth tho, I don't think you really need the life and those spots could be better used for control

  • @brittonsm Naturally, the copies are still there no matter what. Storm is casting the same spell multiple times for the cost of only one cast. People forget. A counter only stops one spell.
