Final moments - stories from inside an Australian abattoir

On 21 November 'Kate' was given unprecedented open access to an abattoir in Victoria's Gippsland. What she captured on film shocked and appalled authorities who, within 12 hours of receiving a formal complaint from Animals Australia, shut the slaughterhouse down and launched a full investigation.

I wish, i wish, i wish australia would stop hailing it's self as the nation which respects animals. Most think that the animal goes in their and none of the pain, suffering or screams ever happens. We don't go as far to think maybe driving cattle off in trucks, crammed together for hours is wrong, we don't imagion the terror of watching a friend be stunned and bleed. NO ABOTTOIR IS CRULETY FREE, no matter what nation.

I won't lie, I eat bacon, etc...I know where it comes from and I'm not ashamed, it's a way of life. However I am ashamed that human beings can treat animals in such a way. Getting a sledge hammer when a pig escapes is just animal cruelty!

This video disgusted me. I hope abattoirs can start slaughtering in a humane way instead of cruelty.

I can guarantee you people would realize that animals matter if they were made experience the world through a pig in a slaughterhouse. If meat eaters had to experience the life of their food for one day they'd realize.

@ genuietube This isn't halal slaughter, Pigs are haram (forbidden) to Muslims. These guys are destined to be bacon and eggs, sausages, ham sandwiches in school lunch boxes and Sunday roast for a lot of people who have no idea of the suffering that goes onto their plate.
