This is my mom :-) she's almost 50 in this vid!

Unfortunately, she doesn't wear makeup very often, so I was lucky to be allowed to make a tutorial with her!

I'm sorry the sound/lighting is so bad! I'll have to make another tut with her soon.

Note: I still have a cold so I sound kinda funny... BUT you can finally hear that I don't have a lisp! :-P

  • Nice video. My fear with using eyeshadow as undereye liner or brow filler is that it might not have the lasting power of a pencil or wax + powder. I already have a lifelong issue with very dark undereye circles, and they get worse as we get older. Any tips on keeping the shadow in the brows and right under the lashes all day? Thanks!

  • Well, I've never had any problems with the brow powder fading or falling out. A good quality shadow though is key.

With the undereye shadow as liner, make sure to use an eyeshadow base first... that will really help.

  • Nice Bethany, but may I suggest better lighting on the subject (in this case, your mom) so we can see the full effect! thanks for making this video, I turned 50 last weekend!

  • Yeah, I plan on making another tutorial with her with much better lighting :-)

  • hey lol ur mom is sooo cute she reminds me of mine and im giving my mom a makeover tomorow wish me luck lol

  • I'm sure it'll go great!

  • She is a very beautiful woman. Her face does not look like she is close to 50. Her hair is natural looking. A bit of hair color/styling would take a good 7 years off.

  • What a wonderfully patient, good mom! She looks natural and put together with this makeup look.

  • It look good

  • I'm still going to wear hot pink and glitter when I'm 50! VIVA LA GLITTER!

  • tweez moms eyebrows <3 you are so lucky you mom is BEAUTIFUL!!

  • beautiful eyes run in the family :)

  • Which eyeshadow palettes did you use?

  • your mom is a good sport :)

  • id personally say your model looked 60 + without makeup

  • its sad when a beautiful woman gets old....it's like a dying flower

  • Nice tutorial. But I didn't think putting a dark color on the sides of her eyes made them look father apart. To me it emphasized that they are close-set eyes. I have this problem, and I never do that! Otherwise, I like your approach, your voice and your color choices.
