The Beat Kicks... and We Start Rockin' (the Djembe)!

Not sure how many folks will have the patience to look at 6+ minutes of me and my kid, but I think the entertainment value will be there for those who can hang. :-) This is an edit of footage taken over the course of about 30 minutes, after uncle Brian got his cool little djembe drum out to let Tommy try it out. It starts with him messing around on it, graduates to a little bit of a duet between him and I, and then eventually he gets going with his "Stop! ... Go!" game. (Grandma Barbara helped a lot during that part. :-) For the finale, Tommy dances The Monkey. (The only unfortunate part is there wasn't really a Big Rock Finish to be found in that part, so it just kind of ends.)

get 'em started young! I wish I was exposed to hand drumming at a young age, cos I'd be rockin a lot harder these days, and probably have less issues too - creating music and rhythm is a very healthy pastime. Fun video : )
