Actually the nose gear wire backed out of the retracts aluminum block. When I retracted the gear the coil got logged in the wheel opening and would not go up or down. My buddy noticed it on a low pass and alerted me. When it wouldn't come down I had to force a landing. To fix the problem I drilled a 1/16" hole through the aluminum block and passed dental floss through the hole, around and over the steering arm. This holds the wire in the block. No problems since.
