  • Very cool Patti & Josh! I miss it.

  • This video is WONDERFUL!! Thank you so much for posting it. I was born in Batavia in 1947 and I grew up there. The town looked EXACTLY like this video and I have such fond memories of Batavia as a young kid. My best friend was David Martino and he lived at 218 Elliott Street back in 1959. I would love to hear from him if he's alive and reads this. Call me Davie. From: Frankie (Moscato) Scott., Aurora, CO. I'm on FaceBook.

  • I remember my Dad taking us to the Dagwood for lunch....

  • Looks like Amsterdam NY. So typical of the idiots in the early 70's. Our Mall is on Main Street and divides the city in two. The mall now is a business center for cancer therapy and kidney dia...what ever its spelled. Its not retail its bullshit!

  • Man I Wish i Was Alive To See All This I Rember Some Though

  • wow looking at this it makes Batavia now suck

  • Thank God we moved before they destroyed downtown. My memories are of a real down town. I remember when they tore down the Richmond Mansion...the beginning of the end.

  • Almost to young to remember-BUT I DO

  • it's sad that they tore it down i rember when i was young going to sloats and they always helped us fix our three wheeler flats. When did they tear it down?Whats really sad is they tore it down and buit the "MALL" we lost our history here.

  • Thanks. I remember most of it from the 60's. It still makes me feel sick every time I think about it. Before they tore the old buildings down some of the junior high school kids hung out in the upper floors of the condemned buildings, after school every day for months, and no one ever knew it but us.
