5.11 Large Plate Carrier: Switch Hit Ammo Carrier and Body Armor

A review of a grab and go tactical load bearing system using the excellent 5.11 brand "Large Plate Carrier" as its foundation. Such as system will serve effectively in military, LEO, or WROL (Without Rule of Law) applications. This review is designed for police officers, military operators, tactical carbine or shotgun competitors, precision rifleman, and responsible civilian "sheepdogs" who just may be the only means of peacekeeping within their own neighborhoods in WROL (public services and law enforcement will be non-functional). I classify the system shown as "Overt/Covert/Light" which is descriptive of capabilities. In certain scenarios, especially WROL, it is advisable to keep your defensive weaponry under wraps and this system could do just that under a coat or jacket. In other scenarios, an overt display of tactical capabilities is advisable which could prevent the need for force. This 5.11 plate carrier can readily serve in both applications and, if outfitted with appropriatey sized magazine pouches, could have Heavy capabilities (6 or more carbine mags). Other desirable features include versatile flat dark earth color (black avail too), quick donning attachment (over the head best if reversing), zip plate carrier pockets with velcro retentions, non-interference shoulder area, high cut to accomodate a web belt, drag loop, high configuration versatility provided by expansive MOLLE webbing on both sides, and ventilated construction using high quality mesh. shown this carrier is setup mostly for Nutnfancy Project weaponry reviewing with tactical carbine, shotgun, pistol ammunition carrying capabilities and the integration of the excellent Blackhawk SERPA holster for the Glock 17 shown. Pouches shown are Blackwater tactical brand and will differ substantially from 5.11 pouch offerings but the concept and resulting capabilites are identical. Armor inserts are Class IIIA options from Diamondback Tactical, which provide pistol round protection only. Downsides compared to other load bearing options, to include my advocated Crossdraw vest, might include lack of hydration and utility pockets, no provision for side pouch attachment (inherent in design), and the extra cost needed to outfit the system with pouches. However the carrier itself is reasonably priced, quality constructed, comfortable in use, and highly versatile.//////////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 9 out of 10

If they come for your guns DONT give them up! They are YOUR guns and you have every right to have them and it is your CONSTITUTIONAL right to have and bear arms! Just cause they had badges didnt make it ok for them to ILLEGALLY confiscate them! They broke the law and infact commited and crime/illegal act when they took law abiding CITIZENS guns away. @theSololobo Nutn was simply using actual events in recent history to illistrate the reality of WROL situations and the need for preparedness. Which other examples might he have used? If I find myself needing to defend myself and family, it matters little to me who the treat is. There is too much PC and race accusations flying around here these days. And Just so anyone doesn't misconstrue my words, I am very much against racism. Its the biggest waist of human emotion I can think of.
